young humanitarian personnel raised a question to emergency team why we are wearing organization’s logo, jacket and cap at the time of emergency response and taking photos, why we are taking some selected and predetermined photos of affected population e.g. giving cash or kits. The answer was photos is evidence of visibility and also to use in the reporting.

Perhaps it is now time to debate weather visibility is for accountability to donors on aid worker performance or visibility is simply promotion activity. If it is simply promotion of activity then a question remain what is the differences between commercial add and visibility

Lets create more dialogue to learn from each other for best use of visibility materials and money to make ourselves accountable to donor and affected population

I recognize this reflection as important. There must be a better way to strengthen accountability without overly promoting ourselves.
