DEPP Briefing Paper 02: Making Community Resilience A Reality

Project: 12th October 2017

By harnessing existing skills, building new ones and unlocking collaborative energy, the programme enables better community preparedness and makes it possible for more crisis responses to be locally led. Combined with work to support local organisations and protect people and their livelihoods, it puts community resilience right at the heart of disaster risk reduction.

This briefing paper explains the approaches that DEPP takes to developing locally led responses, and provides examples of successes we have had so far.
