The Integration of Gender and Security

Project: Shifting The PowerTalent Development 13th June 2017

If natural disaster strike, the experiences said that most of the people who died and/or were injured during cyclones were women and children This mainly happen because mother and girls children are usually responsible for household work, care giver and take care of household assets so it is often found that women are delayed to go to cyclone shelter as they take time to put precautionary measure for household asset and delayed of mothers & sisters also have impact on small children because children are attached to mother & sisters. Therefore it is very important for humanitarian aid worker to understand vulnerabilities and capacities of children and women in the context of disaster.
